Home Infusion

“By preventing occlusions instead of simply treating them, we have been able to provide our home infusion patients with a better overall healthcare experience while also saving money.”

– Director of Pharmacy Operations, Northeast Home Infusion Health Network

Treat Patients, Not Problems

Nexus TKO protects your patient’s IV catheter from unintentional blood reflux, saving you time and money.

Clinical Results

Designed for Home Infusion

What is the difference between the green grip and clear TKO? Nothing.

The high visibility green grip is designed to help home infusion patients avoid unintentional disconnection.

Intraluminal thrombotic occlusions in home infusion central venous access devices (CVADs) cause treatment delays, increase emergency room visits, waste nursing time on declots, and result in unnecessary pharmacy costs. Alteplase only fixes occlusions.

The Nexus TKO 6P-HV is proven to reduce alteplase use by preventing occlusions in the first place, so you can spend more time healing your patients instead of treating problems.

  • Reduces unintentional blood reflux into the catheter lumen tip
  • Fail safe: works regardless of clamping knowledge or technique of the user
  • Works automatically: 3-position pressure-activated diaphragm maintains bi-directional fluid control

Proven to meet the 2021 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice

The 2021 INS Standards note that anti-reflux needleless connectors with a bi-directional, pressure sensitive valve cause the least amount of blood reflux.

Nexus TKO technology outperforms every one of its competitors on blood reflux

Blood reflux in CVADs increases the risk of intraluminal occlusions and CLABSI. The Nexus TKO’s bi-directional, pressure-sensitive silicon diaphragm prevents blood reflux and occlusions for the home infusion patient.

Blood reflux is often caused by mechanical and physiological pressure changes due to patient activity such as coughing, sneezing and vomiting as well as changing IV bags, clamping and unclamping, syringe connection/disconnection and more. The Nexus TKO’s bi-directional, pressure-sensitive silicon diaphragm prevents blood reflux for home infusion patients, which leads to fewer ER visits and less nursing time spent declotting catheters.

Needleless Connector Results: Ranked by Reflux Amount

  • Reflux, Amount of Fluid/Blood pulled into a Catheter Lumen
  • Infusion, Amount of Fluid/Infusate pushed into a Vein
